On March 4 around 1:40 p.m., police responding to an emergency call at Vale Cemetery found a 41-year-old Schenectady woman with several stab wounds to her torso and arms. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.
Schenectady Police identified Lewis as a suspect during the ensuing investigation and took him into custody a short time after the attack. Detectives determined that the assault allegedly took place on State Street, and that the victim, who Lewis is reportedly familiar with, was able to leave the vicinity and walked to the cemetery before calling law enforcement. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
