Schenectady man charged with felonies after drugs found at correctional facility

Albany, NY (WRGB) — A Schenectady man is facing felony drug and contraband charges after corrections officers said they found multiple drugs concealed on him during intake at the Albany County Correctional Facility.

Albany County Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. reported the arrest of 40-year-old Jerry LeConte on Thursday, March 5, 2026. During the intake process, corrections officers discovered LeConte was in possession of around 21 grams of cocaine, 5.5 grams of ecstasy and a quantity of powdered fentanyl, which authorities said he had concealed on his person.

LeConte was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; introducing prison contraband in the first degree, a class D felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor…
