Schenectady, NY (WRGB) — Schenectady firefighters battled a house fire early Thursday morning on Howard St., containing the flames in about 40 minutes and rescuing two cats from the home.
The Schenectady Fire Department responded at about 2:16 a.m. March 12, 2026, after multiple reports of a house on fire. Crews from the department’s 3rd platoon arrived to find heavy fire coming from the rear of the structure and extending well above the roof line, with wind gusts reaching about 50 mph.
