After a lengthy investigation and search, New York State Police arrested Sherry L. Dinkelman, 49, this week on charges of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree identity theft in connection with a December 2024 incident at Dannemora Federal Credit Union.

Authorities said they had been called to the credit union’s New York Road branch for a report of criminal impersonation. An investigation determined that an unknown woman had entered the credit union and presented identification to an employee.
