WEST SAND LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A new pizza shop is gearing up to open its doors this spring in West Sand Lake. Route 43 Slices & More Pizzeria is currently slated to open on April 1.

The shop will take over the former space of the pizza restaurant Brad’s, located at 3563 NY Highway 43. Owner Paula Heller and her business partner, Frank Sloane, began renovating the spot in October, determined to bring sauce, cheese and dough back to a community on the brink of a pizza drought.
“Both pizza shops in town closed relatively at the same time,” said Heller, who also owns Heller’s SS&P Wine & Liquor Warehouse. “Every community needs a good pizzeria, where kids can grab a slice after games, people have another option for lunch, and families can order dinner on Friday nights.”
The new pizzeria’s menu will feature New York-style pizza — both full pies and by the slice — as well as wings, appetizers, salads, subs and other entree options. On Friday, the restaurant hosted a pop-up with a limited menu to get a feel for how the business would run and get any feedback from the community.
