SCHENECTADY — High winds have impacted St. Patrick’s Day celebrations across the Capital Region on Saturday, including causing at least one outdoor event cancellation.
Close to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Katie O’Byrne’s Irish Pub & Restaurant in Schenectady announced the cancellation of its outdoor St. Patrick’s Day block party event “due to dangerous wind,” the pub wrote in a Facebook post.
“The tent guys advised us at 1 p.m. that after attempting to put up the tent since 7 a.m., it just isn’t safe,” the post reads. “We are devastated to share this late news but it is beyond our control.”…
