Herbie’s Burgers moving down Lark Street to Bombers building

ALBANY — Herbie’s Burgers will open its largest location, and first serving alcohol, when it moves down Lark Street this summer and takes over the former Bombers Burrito Bar building at 258 Lark. It replaces Out of Town Bistro, which opened in summer 2024.

Building owner and Bombers founder Matt Baumgartner and Herbie’s co-owner Nick Warchol confirmed the news Wednesday morning. Out of Town Bistro owner Kevin Skeen did not reply to a request for comment.

“It’s the oldest location, and the lease is up,” said Warchol, who took over a former deli space at 196 Lark St. in June 2021 and opened the first Herbie’s that fall with partners Noah Bondy and Aaron Wilson. They previously owned the nearby bar Post on Lark Street, which later moved and became the Larkin Hi-Fi before closing in November after regulatory battles with neighbors and the city.
