Schenectady rabbi among targets in social media posts that led to hate crime investigation

SCHENECTADY — A city rabbi was among the targets of what State Police say were social media threats targeting Jewish people that led to a hate crime arrest.

Rabbi Matt Cutler said he first heard from others about a post targeting “all Jews, but me in particular.” State Police announced Tuesday 45-year-old Joshua J. Wood of Troy was charged last week with felony second-degree aggravated harassment as a hate crime after troopers and FBI agents discovered antisemitic social media posts targeting the Jewish community, “a local religious leader” and President Donald J. Trump.
