ALBANY — In 2019, as the city’s Planning Board approved a proposal for a large building on Western Avenue, an opponent of the project stood and objected with words that have proven remarkably prescient.
“We have a Central Warehouse on the East,” the neighbor said, referring to the 500,000-square-foot eyesore north of Albany’s downtown, “and now we’re going to have a Central Warehouse on the West. Thanks a lot, guys.”
That neighbor was John Waterson, who has lived on Clarendon Road for nearly three decades. A few days ago, he told me he just had a feeling the project at 1211 Western Ave. wouldn’t work out…
