The mayor of an Otsego County village was arrested for the second time in less than a year and accused of repeatedly raping a child in Clifton Park more than a decade ago.
Frank W. Kovacs, 62, of Laurens, was arrested by State Police on March 19 and charged with eight counts of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree criminal sex act and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, according to a news release from State Police.
Police say the charges stem from an investigation that started in December 2024, when a person told troopers that they had been sexually assaulted by Kovacs over “several years, in multiple locations by means of forcible compulsion, intimidation and coercion.”…
