COLONIE — The man who fired a gun inside Crossgates Mall nearly a decade ago, causing panic among shoppers, is accused of being embroiled in another chaotic scene earlier this month at a LongHorn Steakhouse.
Tasheem Maeweather, 30, of Albany, was arrested on March 9 and turned over to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Colonie police said in a release Wednesday. Officers say they walked in on a “chaotic scene” the night of March 4 at the chain restaurant on Wolf Road, after one group dining in encountered another group picking up takeout with whom they had a grudge . An argument turned into a physical fight involving around 10 people, police said. Videos of the fight shared on social media showed chairs and crates being thrown. One person was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for a puncture wound.
Officers were given conflicting accounts of what happened, and several people involved or who had seen the fight had already left or were uncooperative, police said.
