Albany man gets 13.5 years in prison for brutal board attack on teen

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- An Albany man who admitted attacking a 17-year-old boy with a wooden board and robbing him has been sentenced to state prison, Albany County’s district attorney said.

Emanuel Mackey-Bailey, 24, was sentenced to 13 and a half years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision. Judge William Little imposed the sentence after Mackey-Bailey pleaded guilty to First-Degree Assault in the Sept. 10, 2025 attack.

Prosecutors said the attack happened just before 1 p.m. on Ontario Street near Western Avenue. According to the district attorney’s office, Mackey-Bailey ran up behind the boy, hit him in the head with a board, then kept striking, kicking and punching him after he was knocked unconscious…
