ALBANY — The Capital District Transportation Authority is planning a number of bus line schedule changes, reducing run times and cutting early-morning and late-night trips on certain routes starting May 24.
The changes, which go before CDTA’s Board of Directors for approval at its Wednesday evening meeting, follow a series of route and stop cuts implemented last year. CEO Frank Annicaro said they are part of the third of four phases of a service realignment meant to assist with a $2.7 million budget deficit after federal coronavirus pandemic assistance ended. The projected drop in federal aid represents $8.2 million out of a $143 million budget for fiscal year 2027, which begins April 1 of this year. CDTA is anticipating a $3.5 million drop in revenue overall.
