Police: Wrong-way driver causes head-on crash on I-787 in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) — State Police said a wrong-way driver caused a head-on crash on I-787 in Albany, sending two drivers to the hospital and closing northbound lanes for hours.

Troopers responded at about 4:20 a.m. March 29 to a head-on crash on I-787 northbound near exit 4 in Albany. Investigators determined a wrong-way vehicle struck a northbound tow truck head-on.

The tow truck passenger was not hurt, according to police. The tow truck driver was taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening…
