Downtown Albany Earth Day cleanup set for April 22 with free lunch

The BID said cleanup is set for Wednesday, April 22, with volunteer shifts from 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m.

According to the BID, last year’s event drew 160 registered volunteers and collected 818 pounds of trash, the largest total to date. The BID said walk-up volunteers are welcome, but lunch, equipment and supplies are limited.

Volunteers can check in at the Alice Moore Black Arts & Cultural Center, 135 South Pearl Street, or the Olde English Downtown Dog Park, 119 North Pearl Street. The BID said lunch and refreshments will be served at noon at both locations…
