Albany mayor says all potholes to be filled in 10 days

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — On Friday, Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs announced a plan to address every pothole in the city in 10 days. Applyrs made the announcement alongside the Department of General Services.

“Our crews will be out hard at work across the city filling potholes” said Applyrs. “And we’re going to do so over the course of 10 days.”

Part of the city’s plan to address the roads is by implementing “The Beast,” a $275,000 vehicle that transports five road crew members. Department of General Services Deputy Commissioner Frank Zeoli says this vehicle is the only one in the area he is aware of.

“It’s all-in-one,” said Zeoli. “[We] don’t have to bring four or five vehicles and have extra equipment on site. We can move quicker.”

Albany officials said they will address the 153 backlogged potholes that have already been reported on the city’s SeeClickFix reporting website. The Department of General Services will also be on patrol for potholes that haven’t been reported yet…
