TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — NEWS10’s Bianca Caputo interviewed European Space Agency ESM Propulsion Lead Tobias Langener, who was part of the team making a safe landing possible in Houston on Friday night.
Langener is from Germany, but he studied for his Masters at RPI and his wife is from Latham. He said he’s excited to be part of the historic mission, and he wrote his masters thesis at RPI on space propulsion, which he said built a strong foundation for him today.

“If you see the pictures and also how small and vulnerable Earth is, maybe it makes you reconsider what we’re doing right now globally as humanity,” said Langener.
Langeners job as he stays in Houston is to align with other members of Mission Control in the European Space Agency and NASA to ensure a safe landing…
