TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A new arcade bar and retro lounge has opened its doors in Troy. Troy Rewind is located at 96 Congress Street.

The establishment is owned by Capital Region entrepreneurs and vintage arcade game lovers Shawn Handyside and Christopher Young. The two had pitched ideas for an arcade for years but it wasn’t until January 2025, when they found a potential venue, that the full business plan began coming together.
“For me personally, the idea really sprung from some big Halloween parties I would have in my backyard every year,” Handyside told NEWS10. “I had gotten back into the hobby of restoring old arcade games about four years ago, and I would have my garage open and set up like an arcade during the parties and everyone really loved it!”
Unfortunately, the original venue they had set their sights on fell through in September. However, the two were eventually able to find a gaming home in the former Trojan Hardware building.
