Two New Mexico breweries win medals in the 2026 World Beer Cup

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — Described as the “most prestigious beer competition in the world,” The World Beer Cup has been sending local brewpubs home with the gold since 1996. This year, two New Mexico breweries won out – one with a bronze medal for a German-style lager, and the other with a silver medal for their Irish brew.

Here’s a look at those winners.

Ex Novo Brewery

Originally hailing from Oregon, Ex Novo opened their first New Mexico location in Corrales back in 2019. A few years later, their chapter in the PNW came to an end when they closed both Oregon brewhouses down. Since then, they’ve been all in on New Mexico – even opening their own spot in the heart of downtown Albuquerque just a couple years back.

They’re no stranger to the World Beer Cup, having won bronze for their “V for Vienna” brew back in 2023. It was, of course, a Vienna-style Lager. They also won silver for that same lager in 2022…
