ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque City Council is set to vote on a new plan to raise the city’s gross receipts tax Monday night but voters will get the final say.
The gross receipts tax is essentially a sales tax. Councilors Brook Bassan and Klarissa Peña are proposing a less-than-half-percent increase to help pay for ongoing projects, neighborhood improvements and city services.
