LOS LUNAS—When a clean energy startup, Pacific Fusion, first announced it was setting up shop in Los Lunas back in October, company leaders said they would be doing their best to hire local workers for its Build Center situated at the old Merilatt cabinet facility west of I-25.
Matt Pahl, external affairs lead for Pacific Fusion, said that’s been exactly the case from the get-go.
“We ramped up pretty quickly as far as taking action to get people in the Build Center,” Pahl said, pointing out that the manufacturing hub currently has 54 employees. “We are continually moving through that process. When the company decided to site in New Mexico, there was a belief that the workforce was here, and I think that’s proving out to be true.”…
