ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Night-time traffic is going to be harder to navigate later this month along I-25 in Albuquerque, as crews are planning to demolish the old Montgomery bridge.
NMDOT expects to begin the demolition as soon as June 28. The work will require overnight closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night:
- NB and SB I-25 will be closed from the Montgomery Blvd off-ramps to the Montgomery Blvd on-ramps. I-25 traffic will be detoured onto the Pan American Frontage Rd at the Montgomery Blvd off-ramps, over Montgomery Blvd, and back onto the freeway via the Montgomery Blvd on-ramps.
- EB and WB Montgomery Blvd will be closed between Culture Dr and NB Pan American Frontage Rd. Traffic will be detoured to Comanche Rd through Carlisle Blvd and Jefferson St on the east side of I-25 and Culture Dr and Edith Blvd on the west side of I-25.
This phase of the project is expected to take 5 nights. You can find the detour map below:
