Albuquerque Police: Pedestrian dies after being struck by truck near Central

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving a pedestrian on Friday. According to police, the pedestrian died after being struck by a truck near the intersection of Central and Madeira.

Officers responded to reports of a crash just after 1 a.m. on Friday. Early investigation shows a Nissan truck was driving in the far right lane of westbound Central Avenue, approaching San Mateo Boulevard. According to police, a pedestrian crossed from the north sidewalk into westbound Central Ave. near Madeira Drive. Police say the truck struck the pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was injured on the scene, and pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say the driver remained on scene and cooperated with detectives. According to APD, the driver was not impaired and speed does not appear to be a factor…
