Albuquerque Opens $21 Million+ in Affordable Housing Funding Across Three RFPs

Albuquerque renters struggling to find affordable options could see more income-restricted units added citywide—and a new supportive-housing project at 6600 Zuni Road SE—thanks to more than $21 million in public funding the city just released for developers.

The City’s Department of Health, Housing & Homelessness has launched three separate requests for proposals, inviting nonprofit and government developers to compete for dollars drawn from federal grants, local bond funds, and City-owned land.

What’s being offered and who can apply

The largest pool is the Workforce Housing Trust Fund RFP, backed by $9.25 million to $12.5 million in 2025 general obligation bond funds, plus an additional appropriation under Council resolution R-25-206.
