3 charged in connection to deadly Albuquerque road rage shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man and two teens are now in custody for a road rage shooting in the Barelas neighborhood last weekend. Albuquerque police said 59-year-old David Whiting and his wife were driving home from a gathering in Old Town last Sunday when another car tailgated him, sped past him, and brake-checked him.

Both vehicles eventually stopped at a stop sign at Eighth and Marquez, when Whiting approached the other vehicle and exchanged words with the driver. Whiting’s wife told police gunshots rang out at one point, and Whiting fell to the ground.

Investigators linked that car to 23-year-old Sebastian Soto and two 17-year-olds, Santiago Soto and Alejandro Marquez Sotelo. Police said Santiago Soto admitted to shooting Whiting. All three are charged with murder…
