ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller declared Thursday “Archbishop John C. Wester Day” as the city honored the Archbishop of Santa Fe before the annual Blue Mass.
The Blue Mass, a blessing for New Mexico first responders, was held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in northeast Albuquerque.
The proclamation comes after Archbishop Wester turned in his retirement papers last year, which he was mandated to do upon turning 75. Pope Leo XIV has yet to name a successor…
