ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A young man who says he moved to New Mexico to follow his dream of working with livestock is out of a job and suing the state agency that hired him, citing a CROWN Act violation. The man claims his long hair became a point of contention with the New Mexico Livestock Board, but the agency disagrees.
“I thought that would be the perfect job for me. It seemed like it’d be the greatest job in the world, something that I’d want to do as my career,” Christian Patrick told KRQE. The 20-year-old said he moved to Clayton, New Mexico, from Texas on a rodeo scholarship. Combining his two passions, working with livestock and law enforcement, seemed like the perfect path.
“My biggest thing is I always wanted to help people and serve my community,” said Patrick. “And ever since I came out to New Mexico, these people have been so good to me. I don’t have much family out here.”…
