Shooting in Corrales leaves one dead, authorities searching for suspect

CORRALES, N.M. (KRQE) – The Corrales Police Department is investigating a homicide that left a 29-year-old woman dead. Police say officers were called to a residence on Los Arobles Verdes Rd. around 5:18 p.m. Monday January 22 to reports of a shooting.

Elderly resident, animals rescued from Cedar Crest hoarding case

When officers arrived they found the woman dead outside of the home with several apparent gunshot wounds. Police identified the suspect as 55-year-old Charles “Chuck” Kauffmann. Police say Kauffmann left the scene before police arrived.

Kauffmann was last seen driving a stolen black Kia Rio with a New Mexico license plate #BKGF24. Kauffmann is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Kauffmann or his location is asked to contact Corrales Police at (505) 891-7226.
