Calls to Close Troubled Adam Food Market Amidst Murder and Robbery Spree in Albuquerque

A recent surge in criminal activity, including a murder and a violent robbery, has heightened concerns and calls for the closure of the Adam Food Market in Albuquerque’s International District. City officials have been vocal about their efforts to shut down the market due to the escalating violence within its vicinity.

Security footage from the market paints a grim picture of the troubling incidents that unfolded within a few days. Last Wednesday, an altercation took a deadly turn when individuals were spotted rummaging through their car trunks. A man in a gray hoodie approached, leading to a confrontation that ended with a single gunshot. The victim, 35-year-old Nicole Maldonado, tragically lost her life.

In another incident just three days later, an older man was attacked outside the Adam Market. Following a verbal exchange, he was rendered unconscious with a single punch. The assailant then proceeded to empty the victim’s wallet and steal his keys. Bystanders eventually came to the victim’s aid, who reported the assault and the theft of his car to the police.
