Albuquerque man who accidentally killed his father during argument sentenced

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who pled no contest to shooting and killing his biological father during an argument in 2022 was sentenced on Monday. Ernest Sena Jr. pled no contest to involuntary manslaughter charges in earlier January.

Woman accused in connection to death of 3-year-old held until trial

Back in 2022, Sena Jr. got into an argument with his father, Ernest Sena Sr., pointed a gun at him, and it accidentally went off. He was facing up to 18 months behind bars. The defense argued that Sena Sr. had a history of violence against Sena Jr. and other members of the family, that the shooting was an accident, and that Sena Jr. shouldn’t serve any more time.

Based on family testimony, Judge Bruce Fox sentenced Sena Jr. to 18 months of supervised probation.
