ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The public can help wildlife experts get a better idea of the bird population in New Mexico. The ABQ Biopark’s Botanic Gardens are participating in the nationwide Great Backyard Bird Count on February 17 starting at 8 am.

Volunteers will join expert bird watchers to identify and catalog various species of birds and that information will be submitted to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. For more information, visit the ABQ Biopark’s website .
