Bernalillo County deputies say in August 2022, 19-year-old Reginald Hall took the Railrunner from Los Lunas to Albuquerque. Investigators say Hall then raped and stabbed a 70-year-old runner in the Bosque, south of the Hispanic Cultural Center. APD arrested him after a day-long manhunt.

Hall, 20, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including criminal sexual penetration and aggravated battery. A witness said they saw Hall drag the woman into an irrigation ditch.

The victim of the attack addressed Hall in court before sentencing. “I am 71 years old now, and I have been through a lot in my life,” the victim said.

“I don’t know you, I never knew you, but I feel really badly for you. I hope that someday you will be guided to make different choices in your life so that you can find peace,” the victim said, addressing Hall.
