ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s been months since a shooting in a northwest Albuquerque neighborhood critically injured a teenage girl. The teen accused of pulling the trigger is still on the run.
“Everything has just been so hard.” “As a dad, it’s really frustrating.”
Desiree Gallegos, shot on November 5, has been fighting for three months just to move her left leg and arm again. Her family, fighting to get answers about where her accused shooter may be. “He’s out and about in this living his life as is,” said Edward Gallegos, Desiree’s father.

The family of the 17-year-old Gallegos, says she always puts her family first, especially her four siblings. She was never without smile. “She was always laughing. She always was. She was very sweet, loving,” said Jenay Martinez, Desiree’s mother
