SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A bill providing funding for trauma training for the Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD) is making its way through the Roundhouse.
Senate Bill 240 , introduced by Senator Siah Correa Hemphill, was passed by the Health and Public Affairs Committee on Saturday.

The bill would pay for training for CYFD staff and foster families to do “trauma-informed training.”
The bill passed 7-0 and will head to the Senate Finance Committee.
