Local scouts collect food, donations for Storehouse New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America went out into the community on Sunday for a food drive supporting Storehouse New Mexico.

Scout troops of all ages participated in their annual “Scouting For Food” campaign . The scouts took turns in two-hour shifts taking food donations and monetary donations.

Local vendors look to ABQ International Sunport for business opportunities

They were asking for non-perishable items such as canned goods, dried pasta, and peanut butter.

Troop 285 said that they wanted to break their last year’s record of 14,000 meals delivered. They also said the event aligns with the values of boy scouting through helping others.
