The National Trust for Historic Preservation is kicking off a new initiative, “Share Your Route 66 Story.” The campaign hopes to catalog memories and photos of every part of the historic highway. “What we’re trying to do is to identify the places that are still there and also look at what are the places people care about and this story campaign is really a key component of that,” Senior Director of preservation programs Amy Webb said.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation says they hope to compile the stories in time for the 100th anniversary of Route 66, in 2026. People can share their stories from Route 66 by clicking here.
