ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education selected a new superintendent on Monday. Dr. Gabriella Durán Blakey, 48, is a native of Albuquerque and is currently the district’s chief operations officer. She was one of two finalists being considered for the position and will take over the role of superintendent when Scott Elder’s contract expires on June 30.
