Albuquerque man convicted for firearms possession

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A federal jury has convicted 40-year-old Walter Palmon Eddings for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

Eddings was indicted by a grand jury in 2022. The DOJ says law enforcement observed Eddings enter a vehicle that had a rifle inside. Eddings and several others then traveled to a gas station where law enforcement confronted Eddings while he was carrying a backpack containing two stolen guns, the DOJ says.

Now that Eddings – who has previous convictions for armed robbery, kidnapping, and other crimes – has been convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
