“Ransom Canyon” starts filming in Albuquerque, Las Vegas

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new Netflix series is beginning production in the Land of Enchantment. According to the New Mexico Film Office, “Ransom Canyon” is a romance-fueled family drama and contemporary Western saga that will be filmed in and around Albuquerque and Las Vegas, NM through June.

The show will employ over 700 New Mexicans, including 380 crew members, 40 principal actors, and 300 background talent.

“Ransom Canyon” takes place in the Texas Hill Country and tells the story of the lives of three ranching families. It stars Josh Duhamel (“Transformers”), Minka Kelly (“Euphoria”), James Brolin (“Sweet Tooth”), and Eoin Macken (“La Brea”).

The first two episodes will be directed by Amanda Marsalis (“Ozark”). The show was written, created, and executive produced by April Blair (“Wednesday”).
