Man will spend 29 years behind bars for 2022 Albuquerque murder

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who admitted to shooting and killing a man on Halloween in 2022 will spend nearly three decades behind bars. Sebastian Ocana pled guilty to second-degree murder in connection to the death of Mateo Lopez.

Ocana told police that he and Lopez had fighting for months when he saw him at Tingley Beach in 2022. He followed Lopez downtown where he fired two rounds into Lopez’s car killing him.

Judge Bruce Fox sentenced Ocana to 29 years behind bars.
