Albuquerque man sentenced to 9 years in prison for his role in 2020 murder

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man will spend nearly a decade behind bars for a crime he committed over three years ago. Back in 2020, then-18-year-old Jaden Sandoval planned a drug deal with Noah Duran with the purpose of robbing the victim Elijah Mirabal. During the robbery, Duran shot and killed Mirabal.

Sandoval pled no contest to conspiracy and armed robbery charges back in September saying he did not intend to kill anyone. However, court records show Sandoval made the plan to rob Mirabal. Sandoval was sentenced to 29 years in prison back in April for his role in the crime.

Judge Courtney Weaks sentenced Sandoval to nine years in prison.
