Police say Santos, Pena-Cantor and Austin Bing stopped at a gas station in New Mexico and claimed the child fell inside the restroom. When they brought the child to the hospital, medical professionals determined the toddler was dead when she arrived and noticed signs of abuse on the body.
The three were staying at James Welch’s house in Albuquerque when police believe the abuse took place. All four are facing charges.
