Abraham Perez to fight for WBC youth world championship

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It will be a very busy year for Abraham Perez in 2024. The local professional boxer is aiming to get into the ring four times throughout the year, beginning with a major bout in March for the WBC youth world championship.

Perez (9-0, 5 KO) has been dominant in his flyweight class to start his career. Already with belts in IBA, he is transitioning to WBC with the hopes on landing an even bigger one. His next upcoming bout with be against much tougher competition as he looks to secure more big time fights in the future.

“So with each fight that I get, I want to have more of a tougher fight each and every time so I can start climbing these rankings,” said Perez. “I’m not expecting anything to be easy but fighting these tougher fights with these organizations will have me excel and far as my rankings go.”

Through the first few years of his professional career, Perez hasn’t really been tested and has come out of all of his fights relatively clean. Even though his style in the ring has payed off so far, he feels it is time to start getting a little more aggressive in camp as he looks to apply more pressure and throw more combinations.
