ABQ Royals headed to Special Olympics NM State Softball Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Special Olympics New Mexico is busy once again this summer, and two metro softball teams are excited to head to the state championships in Farmington later this month. The B and C Albuquerque Royals punched their ticket to the State Championships placing at the Area Tournament last week.

“We beat our rivals Duke, and let’s see if we can do it again at State,” said Royals player, Santiago.

The Royals will compete in Farmington on August 23-24, and after placing third last year, this team is excited to improve their medal.

“I want to add one more to my collection. This time it will be gold’,’ no more bronze for me. Let’s go take some names; that’s all I got to say,” said Santiago.
