Albuquerque homeowner still looking for service dog after water main break

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An exploding water main left a Northeast Heights home badly damaged, and the homeowner’s service dog missing. That was more than a week ago and since then, neighbors and strangers have been trying to find the dog. “I think she’s in that garage, but I need to know so I can start the grief cycle,” said Rose Romero, homeowner.

Romero came back home on Wednesday with a group of volunteers and neighbors looking for her 14-year-old service dog Ivy. Rose is partially blind, and Ivy has been helping her for the last 14 years. “I just want to know if she is in there, I want to know because we have so many other people coming into the picture, they want to go searching. I hate for them to keep searching while she might be in the garage,” said Romero.
