Albuquerque man sentenced for the 2023 murder of two brothers

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Mario Lange, who killed two teen brothers in 2023 in Albuquerque was sentenced to 36-years behind bars by Judge Cindy Leos.

Lange pleaded guilty for the murder of 15-year-old Matthew Lopez and 14-year-old Gabriel Lopez. Lange admitted he and two others set up a drug deal at a mobile home near Atrisco and I-40 with a plan to kill one of the teens. Lange pleaded guilty to first and second degree murder. As part of the plea deal, Lange faced up to 36 years behind bars due to the fact that he was 17 at the time of the shooting.
