ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s a facility often depicted in crime TV shows. The Metropolitan Forensic Science Center is how the Albuquerque Police Department solves crimes all across the city.“From beginning to end, it doesn’t end, you know, when the crime scene tape is lifted and the road is back opened up,” said Commander Jay Ratliff with the Albuquerque Police Department.

It’s APD’s greatest tool for solving crimes, the Metropolitan Forensic Science Center. “If we were reliant on an external source to be able to handle the volume, the backlog would be just ridiculous. So having the facility allows us to process those in a more timely fashion,” said Commander Ratliff.
