Police said Soto and Sanchez put the child to sleep on the couch but the baby never woke up. Testing revealed the child had died from overdosing on fentanyl and meth which police said the couple have a history of using. They also said drug residue was found in a jacket that was on the couch. Two other children in the home were also found to have the drugs in their system.

Soto and Sanchez were booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on Monday and are facing several charges including child abuse resulting in death.
