Suspected serial robber takes plea deal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman who Albuquerque police said is a serial armed robber is taking a plea deal and having more than 30 charges dropped against her.

In September of last year, security footage at the Bob’s Burgers on Juan Tabo captured the moments Cleo Barela robbed the fast food establishment at gunpoint.

A few weeks earlier, Barela reportedly robbed a Subway at gunpoint. Police said, last year, they believed Barela was connected to at least 20 armed robberies across Albuquerque.

Barela is pleading guilty to two counts of armed robbery but was previously facing more than 15 of those charges, among dozens of others. a sentencing hearing is set for next month.
