Albuquerque City Councilors scrutinize social media posts made by APD

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Wednesday night, Albuquerque City Councilors called out the Albuquerque Police Department’s Director of Communication for recent social media posts they deemed as “inappropriate.” The department’s social media posts from two days ago criticized people’s opinions and some posts are digs at personal preferences.

“Mean tweets, they’re not okay. And recently, we had some from the PIO of APD and we had this conversation a year ago and it’s serious. We have to take a higher road and sometimes we have to bite our tongue and suck it up,” said City Councilor Renee Grout.

“Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. A year ago, this was incredibly embarrassing that the PIO did what they did,” said City Councilor Brook Bassan.
